Work

Work with the Scarman Trust to discuss and advise on the support needs of small BME VCS organisations and develop appropriate signposting and referral procedures
Represent BME VCS interests in Change Up

Promote recommendations in MCCR’s Funding and Investment Strategy report

Outcomes

Capacity of small BME VCS organisations built by contracted agency

Additional sub-regional mainstream and specialist infrastructure services for the BME VCS
Infrastructure support for the BME VCS developed in line with MCCR’s research report’s recommendations

Greater understanding and response to BME VCS infrastructure needs

MCC/VSPG/BME FUNDING STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT

Consult with VSPG and BME Network to develop BME service provision and specialist BME VCS capacity building
Conduct research into the needs of BME communities in Manchester
Carry out a needs analysis within identified BME communities and prioritise issues

Produce recommendations on services required to tackle identified BME needs

Monitor the impact of funded services against identified priorities

Participate in periodic reviews of the themes of the BME funding strategy

 

Implementation and development of MCC funding and investment strategy

Services to BME developed in line with MCC funding and investment strategy


Specific targeted BME communities’ needs are understood and priorities decided
BME communities receive services according to their needs and priorities

ASIAN PARENT CARERS PROJECT

Deliver Asian Parent Carers ‘carer’s breaks’ project.


Asian disability service mapping and consultation.


Meetings held with Social Services re Asian parents with disabled children.

Provide support for Asian parents with disabled children.


Information available to plan services for Asian parents.


Needs identified and service delivery improved.
