Outcomes

• Advise Manchester City Council (MCC) on delivering their requirements under the Race Relations (Amendments) Act 2000.

• MCC develops comprehensive RES and Action Plans to meet legislative requirements and race equality objectives.

• Work with appropriate MCC Working Groups to evaluate progress.

• Progress is evaluated and reported to the Council.

• Monitor and scrutinise Department Action Plans and produce reports.

• Action Plans are progressed within agreed timescales and reports produced for the Scrutiny Committee.

• Provide advice and support to other public bodies and private and voluntary and community sector organisations in developing policies and strategies to eliminate racial discrimination and promoting equality of opportunity.

• Other public bodies meet their obligations under the Race Relations (Amendments) Act 2000 and other sectors provide enhanced race equality.

• Work with MCC, Peacemakers, other appropriate agencies and community organisations to devise actions to combat potential cases/ incidents of violent extremism.

• Projects devised and delivered to support victims of violent extremism and provide opportunities for vulnerable youths to engage in community friendly activities.

• Victims receive good quality support services from appropriate agencies.
