MANAGEMENT

We will provide infrastructure support to BME organisations to make them self-sustaining through appropriate training programmes enabling them to bid for contracts and commissions for delivery of vital services to their communities.


Infrastructure Support

Delivery

Outcomes

  • Provide support and signposting for BME VCS organisations to tender for contracts, on their own or in partnerships, to deliver priority community services.
  • Creation of a viable and sustainable BME VCS.

Capacity Building

Delivery

Outcomes

  • Provide information and advice and signposting to capacity building services for BME VCS organisations, e.g. performance, governance, income, change, volunteering and communications.
  • Additional mainstream and specialist capacity building services provided.

Hosting Service

Outcomes

  • Host organisations that provide key BME community services, but do not have the capacity or resources to be independent.
  • New key services provided by new organisations, which otherwise would not exist.

Project Management

Outcomes

  • Manage projects providing priority BME community services, e.g. Manchester Asian Parent Carers, which are not provided by other organisations.
  • Unmet priority needs met through new or extended projects.

BME VCS Resource Centre

Outcomes

  • Develop The Phil Martin Centre as a Resource and Development Centre for BME communities and the BME VCS.
  • User-friendly low cost community facility provided for a wide range of uses by the BME VCS and BME communities.

Partnership Working

  • Work with and advise infrastructure and capacity building organisations on the needs of the BME VCS and successful delivery methods.
  • Capacity of BME VCS successfully built by mainstream agencies.

Representation

  • Represent BME VCS on appropriate bodies, including GMVSS and any other local or regional forums.
  • Support services developed to address the needs of the BME VCS in line with MCCR’s policy and strategy recommendations.

Advocacy

  • Promote recommendations made in MCCR’s various research studies and reports on the infrastructure and capacity building needs of the BME VCS.
  • New services developed to meet BME VCS needs.

Monitoring

  • Monitor the impact of funded infrastructure and capacity building services against identified BME VCS needs and priorities.
  • Success or failure of funded services and future needs identified.
